Lake Taupo Charter Boat - 'Explorer'
The 12 metre long houseboat 'Explorer' is surveyed to carry 30 passengers and sleeps up to 8 people with 3 double beds and 2 single. It has a comfortable lounge and dining area, open plan living, galley and bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet. The galley is fully equipped with a two burner gas stove and grill, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, glasses, tea, coffee and basic necessities.
Outside there is a large three burner BBQ with hood and a fishing area close to the water. Upstairs is a covered helm and spacious deck with comfy chairs and a table. A great area to soak up the sun and views and enjoy a nice glass of wine.
The houseboat is available for skippered charters and/or overnight stays. Explorer can either be located at our berth in the marina or on our private mooring in Acacia Bay. See map
Overnight Stays
There are two options available for overnight stays. The first option is to be located at berth #69 which is on the town side of the marina (2 minutes walk to town). This option offers easy access on and off the boat with parking right out front. A great choice if you want accommodation close to town and yet in a quiet peaceful location.
The second option is on our private mooring located in the picturesque are of Acacia Bay north. This would also incorporate a 20 minute cruise there and back (an additional charge applies). Here you would have access to and from the boat with either of our two dinghies that we have available on the shore or simply just stay on the boat and enjoy just being on the water.
The price for an overnight stay on the houseboat starts from $150 for 1-2 people and an additional $25 for each extra person per night (incl. gst). All linen and basic necessities are included. Sleeps up to 8 people.

Chartered Boating
Take some time out to get on the largest lake in the Southern Hemisphere. Let our skipper take you to the unique Maori carvings or fish for trout on board the "Explorer" from $135 per hour (incl. gst), for up to 30 people.
You can design your own cruise to suit! Minimum charter is for two hours. A great way to see the beautiful sights of Lake Taupo. Bring your own food and drink and enjoy being out on the lake.
Included in your Cruise
All cruises include the use of fishing gear such as rods, reels, electric down rigger plus the kayak and dingy.
